Scott C. Brooks is a singer/songwriter who plays folk and blues music in the styles common to the early 1900's to the 1960's. Influenced by Robert Johnson, Charlie Patton and Son House, his music is a wide screen tribute to artists that poured their hearts and souls into the music they created.
In the studio Scott C. Brooks uses only vintage equipment, including a guitar amplifier from the 1930's, in order to replicate the tones of his favorite older records. Despite his love of old fashioned recordings, his music retains an originality and a style all his own with hints of Bluegrass and Appalachian mountain music.
Currently living in West Virginia with his wife, production and writing partner, he is a staple of the small club/open mic circuit playing everywhere from jam parties and festivals to dive bars and coffee houses. He has done numerous recordings and has many digital releases. At any moment, he is always in the studio recording new material for soundtracks and public releases.
Scott has played with numerous blues and bluegrass musicians, and has currently teamed up with Curtis Pritts and his new band, Muddy Creek Mission.
Back stage, Scott Brooks is an audio and A/V technician that has been working in the DC Metro and Baltimore areas for 16 years; having done everything from building broadway sets, rigging, carpentry, and entertainment lighting for various vendors coming through the area. He is even Stageline@ certified for the 320 and smaller.
Scott Brooks is currently available as a freelance tech and hand, along with his partner Holly Eaton, a hand as well. Rates will be negotiated prior to booking confirmation. Cancelations within 24 hours of production require full payment. Scott C. Brooks is a member of the National Association for the Self Employed.
